Custom-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT)
The C-TPAT program was developed following September 11 to prevent unsafe cargo from crossing U.S. borders. Crowley was one of the first to receive approval to participate in the C-TPAT program, which to this day is only held by a minority of registered and certified participants. Currently, Crowley’s liner and logistics teams (including CrowleyFresh), as well as company subsidiary Customized Brokers, are certified as such.
The USDA evaluates facilities to ensure that agricultural pests and diseases aren’t introduced into the U.S. through commodities such as meats, animals, animal products, fruits, vegetables, plants, soil, seeds, and plant-based handicrafts, among others. As a USDA-approved facility, the team at CrowleyFresh can provide guidance and valuable information about what the requirements exist for importing perishables into the U.S., helping to reduce confusion, prevent costly delays, and avoid penalties and merchandise loss.
CrowleyFresh is certified compliant in Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) practices.
